Locked in: Escape Room
Rival teams in a race against the clock…

UPIC students split into teams and went head-to-head in an exciting game of logic and reasoning.
Each team went into a room full of puzzles and padlocks. As soon as the door closed, they were locked in. A giant countdown clock appeared on the wall – giving them just 1 hour to escape.
The first room was called ‘Accused.’ Students entered a fictional crime scene and the goal was to gather enough evidence to solve a murder.
The second room was called ‘Wrecked.’ To pass the test, students had to join a crew of sea smugglers and help them sneak a box of treasure to shore.
The third room was called ‘Radioactive.’ Students walked into a science lab and their mission was clear – to save the planet from the devastating effects of a nuclear explosion.
Everyone said the atmosphere was electric. Spooky sound effects echoed through the walls, and the lights flickered on and off. The cryptic messages were challenging, so each team had to work together and use problem-solving skills to crack the case.
It was interesting to see different strategies taking place. Some students ran across the room, moving furniture and shouting out clues. Others took a more thoughtful approach; delegating tasks and focussing on time management.
We were blown away by the resilience of each team! All taking a hands-on approach and thriving under pressure.
Team ‘Radioactive’ were the winners – escaping with 15 minutes to spare. Everyone stopped for a group photo and they walked away smiling.
If the rumours are true… a rematch has already been scheduled for next semester..
