A New Beginning
We’re moving to a brand-new home at 19 Portland Villas. An even better space for our international student community.
After 16 happy years in 15 Portland Villas, we’re officially moving down the road to number 19, closer to the heart of campus.
Why are we moving?
Our new space will allow us to grow as a College. We can support our students with larger classrooms, improved accessibility, and a better space for social events. This shiny new building has been chosen to reflect the spirit of the UPIC! Welcoming, inclusive, and always evolving.
How will this affect teaching?
Everything has been planned to keep things running smoothly. All upcoming classes and exams will take place in other buildings across the University campus. Students may experience some slight delays in admin response times this week, but our Student Experience Team will action all enquiries as soon as they can.
When will students arrive at the new building?
The new location brings several exciting upgrades, including a fully refurbished welcome area for staff and students. An accessibility ramp will be added to the rear entrance, and the building will be located next to the Centre for Eyecare Excellence (CEE) at Hepworth House.

📅 Move date: Tuesday 29th July 2025
⏳ Slight delays expected: 28th – 30th July (admin only)
🏫 Classes and exams: These will take place in other buildings from 29th July
🚪 New classrooms ready: From 30 August
📚 Teaching starts in 19 Portland Villas: Monday 15th September
✅ No reduction in classroom availability: In fact, we’ve got newly refurbished spaces!
♿ Accessibility ramp: This will be installed at the rear entrance
🧩 New classroom layout: We can now accommodate larger classes and social events
🎉 New welcome room: The Student Experience Team can be found in the room closest to the entrance, with hot desks for tutors and academic staff
📲 Same phone numbers and emails: All contact details will stay the same
