UPIC Students Go Bowling

Over twenty students headed to the local bowling alley for an exciting night of friendly competition.

Early last week, we took a group of UPIC students bowling as part of our ongoing mission to enhance the international student community here in Plymouth.

The atmosphere was high-energy from the moment we hit the lanes. Some students turned out to be natural bowlers, confidently knocking down pins left and right! While others were trying the sport for the very first time.

As soon as we started playing, the space filled with cheers and laughter (…and a few light-hearted boos..!) as the competition heated up. Our more experienced players helped the newcomers with 1-2-1 support to help refine their technique.

Over two games, students quickly formed social connections that reached beyond the lanes. It was amazing to see how those first gutter balls quickly turned into strikes! It’s all about celebrating the small wins, you know? The whole experience brought everyone together to socialise in a new environment.

Events like this are key to our international student programme, which gives everyone the chance to connect across different cultures and feel part of a vibrant campus community.
